Position Summary

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Estimator to lead and optimize our label and flexible packaging pricing process. In this critical role, you will be responsible for turning around quotes to our customers quickly and accurately while ensuring optimal margins. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to manage job profitability reporting and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Pricing & Quoting

  • Develop and manage accurate cost estimates and pricing structures for label and flexible packaging projects.
  • Produce timely quotes that meet or exceed internal turnaround targets.
  • Ensure all quotes maintain the company’s margin objectives.

• Margin Accuracy & Optimization

  • Collaborate with Production, Sales, and Finance teams to continuously review and refine costing models.
  • Monitor raw material costs, labor rates, and other key factors to optimize profit margins.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to recommend pricing strategies that align with business goals.

• Job Profitability Reporting

  • Track and analyze job costs throughout the production lifecycle, identifying variances in real time.
  • Prepare and present regular profitability reports to management, highlighting trends and opportunities.
  • Recommend operational improvements to maintain or increase profitability.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to understand customer requirements and ensure estimates align with project needs.
  • Support Purchasing in supplier negotiations by providing accurate cost and volume estimates.

• System & Process Management

  • Preferably leverage Label Traxx software to streamline quoting and project tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in internal systems to facilitate efficient workflow.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve internal processes for greater speed and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in estimating, costing, or pricing within packaging, printing, or a similar industry.

• Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for cost modeling and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Label Traxx or similar labeling/printing software highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and lead times in packaging is a plus.

• Soft Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
