The Senior Accounting Manager  is the key financial role to support the organization in producing and managing the company financials including supporting manufacturing operations. S/he provides analysis and insights to guide decision making, and provides strong partnership to facility manufacturing teams to ensure the financial accounting and reporting objectives are met. The Senior Accounting Manager supervises one or more accounting resources and will ensure accounting/reporting is done in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with company policies. This position reports to the CFO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and lead timely monthly and annual closing processes that are accurate and complete.
  • Produce timely financial reports and statements - monthly, quarterly, annually and ad hoc - and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data.
  • Establish best-practice accounting processes and policies throughout the organization and ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Coordinate and complete audits without material weaknesses.
  • Cash management including daily cash report, bank reconciliations, and short-term projections.
  • Oversee transactional accounting - AR and  AP.
  • Have functional responsibility for general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets and equity.
  • Coordinate taxes - sales, income, use and others as assigned.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Work collaboratively with other company departments to understand changes in the business and identify opportunities to increase enterprise value. 
  • Monitor and analyze variances to understand root causes and propose and implement solutions.
  • Work with operations to ensure inventory and related costs are recorded correctly on a monthly basis.
  • Exhibit necessary ERP system proficiency - preferably with NetSuite. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Thorough understanding of financial statements and closing procedures.
  • ERP experience is a must and NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA, CMA or MBA is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
  • 5 or more  years of progressive accounting experience with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Deep understanding of the role of systems in the organization, internal controls, and effective processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, cost and management accounting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proactively able to identify ways to streamline and improve current processes.
