Position Overview:

 

Calyx Containers is looking for a motivated and talented Sales Development & Marketing Coordinator to join our growing team. This in‑office role is ideal for a resourceful professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, is tech‑savvy, and has a knack for organizing content, driving social engagement, supporting marketing execution across platforms, and confidently making targeted outbound calls and emails to generate leads. The right candidate will be one who works well under pressure, thinks out-of-the-box, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way phone conversations with prospects, and is highly self-motivated.

 

This role should be comfortable wearing many hats—from managing digital assets and running email campaigns to assisting with trade‑show prep, tracking campaign metrics, building lead lists, and booking initial discovery calls for the sales team. This role will work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure departmental goals, pipeline growth, content execution, and digital initiatives are aligned and successful. This is a great opportunity for a young professional to get exposure and hands-on experience in a collaborative team culture.

 

This position is required to be in-person at the Calyx Spaceship (our manufacturing facility & HQ) in Salt Lake City, UT.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 
  • Sales Development & Enablement
    • Build, cleanse, and segment lead lists using CRM and lead management software.
    • Execute multi‑touch outbound sequences (phone, email, LinkedIn) to secure introductory calls for the Acquisition team.
    • Track and report weekly KPIs, surfacing insights to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
    • Ensure the sales team has current collateral, samples, and product information at every stage of the funnel.
  • Content & Asset Management
    • Maintain, organize, and manage Marketing Google Drive content libraries.
    • Source, update, and archive visual, written, and digital assets.
    • Assist in managing the content calendar and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Email Marketing & CRM Campaigns
    • Build and manage drip campaigns in CannaBiz Media and HubSpot using provided content and assets.
    • Track, report on, and recommend optimizations to improve campaign performance.
    • Assist with A/B testing and segmentation strategies to increase engagement and conversions.
  •  Social Media Management
    • Schedule and post content on LinkedIn and Instagram according to the media calendar.
    • Monitor social accounts daily and respond to messages promptly.
    • Conduct proactive outbound engagement (“social media love”) to increase brand visibility and interaction.
    • Track social performance and provide regular reports with optimization recommendations.
  • Marketing Operations & Campaign Support
    • Create and manage marketing lead lists and outreach efforts.
    • Track performance of marketing campaigns and assist with ROI reporting.
    • Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in meeting weekly, quarterly, and annual KPIs.
  •  Trade Show & Event Support
    • Coordinate trade‑show logistics, including profile setup, vendor communication, deadline tracking, and shipments.
    • Prepare and organize marketing collateral, product samples, and event essentials.
    • Assist in tracking trade‑show ROI (no routine travel required).
  • Website & Digital Content Support
    • Assist with updating website content, product listings, and blog publishing.
    • Support basic SEO‑related tasks and ensure brand consistency across all channels.
  • General Administrative & Cross‑Functional Support
    • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance to keep projects on schedule and data accurate.
    • Support marketing vendor relationships as directed.
    • Perform QA on emails, social posts, and website content to ensure campaign readiness.
    • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with special projects and strategic execution.
  • Campaign Reporting & Optimization
    • Compile reports on campaign ROI, email performance, and social metrics.Share findings to inform and adapt marketing strategies.
    • Monitor online reviews and feedback, escalating key insights to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Strong desire to learn and launch your career in Sales or Marketing
  • 1–2 years in a sales and/or marketing role (or equivalent internship/co‑op experience).
  • Comfortable making outbound phone calls and writing persuasive prospecting emails.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, social‑media platforms, and sequencing tools.
  • Social‑media savvy (LinkedIn & Instagram) with an eye for B2B engagement.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a data‑driven mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Natural Emotional Intelligence (EQ) with potential to learn how to use this in S&M.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including a positive/can-do attitude, active listening, teamwork, and diplomacy.
  • Self-starter with the ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Strong drive for achieving results under pressure.
  • Graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.
  • Adobe Acrobat proficiency is preferred.
  • Event or trade‑show planning experience is preferred.
  • Website content management or SEO exposure is preferred.
  • PPC or paid‑media campaign experience is preferred.
  • Copywriting or blog‑writing experience is preferred.
  • Cannabis industry passion or experience is preferred.
