Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flexible Packaging Converting Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining flexible packaging converting lines to ensure high-quality production and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in pouch converting preferably with a Sun Centre pouch machine, excellent mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Converting Equipment: Set up, operate, and adjust machinery for converting flexible packaging materials, including slitting, laminating, coating, printing, or bag-making equipment.

• Quality Control: Monitor output for defects, ensure adherence to quality standards, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product specifications.

• Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve mechanical problems.

• Material Handling: Load raw materials into machines, monitor material usage, and ensure proper handling and storage of finished products.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs, record machine settings, and report downtime or production issues.

• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, perform safety checks, and ensure the work environment complies with company and regulatory standards.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify and suggest ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall production processes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.

• Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or packaging environment, preferably with flexible packaging materials.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery.

• Familiarity with flexible packaging materials such as films, laminates, and adhesives is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and machine settings.

• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and good organizational skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Schedule:

Hiring for both first shift (M-F 6:00 - 2:30) and second shift (M-F 2:00 - 10:30)
